It is the third novel to feature Hercule Poirot as the lead detective. ***'"The Murder of Roger Ackroyd" is a work of detective fiction by British writer Agatha Christie, first published in June 1926 in the United Kingdom by William Collins, Sons and in the United States by Dodd, Mead and Company. Internally the book is closer to near fine, with no inscriptions and no foxing - very unusual for books from this period. The spine is slightly marked and a little faded, but the lettering is still clear. Head and tail of spine rubbed and creased, with a very small tear at the top of the cloth.

The boards are in otherwise good condition, with some wear and tear commensurate to a book that has been handled for over 90 years. The damp staining hardly affects the inner front board and pastedown. Although the book and contents are in very good condition, there is some damp staining to the bottom corner of the front board, and a splash stain to the front board affecting the name 'Agatha'. ***A very good copy in blue cloth-covered boards with black titles to the spine and front board. The first impression was published a year earlier in March 1926 with a different design to the boards.
